Providing a State of the Art Lighting Solution for The Ballroom, Accrington Town Hall, Lancashire

A.C. Special Projects were briefed to specify, supply, install and commission a state of the art, energy efficient LED lighting and control system to meet the diverse, multipurpose needs of events hosted by The Ballroom at Accrington Town Hall, including theatre-style live shows, dances, conferences, fashion shows and wedding receptions.

The classic ballroom, which dates back to 1853, recently underwent a £750k respectful restoration and when it came to upgrading The Ballroom’s stage and architectural effects lighting systems, the venue wanted a modern system which could provide a ‘wow’ factor and allow the room’s look to be tailored for a diverse range of client events.

The room’s energy efficient LED system has contributed to a reduction in The Ballroom’s event lighting power consumption and shortened set-up times for events, due to the lighting’s huge colour-mixing palette as compared to the original system’s conventional Pars utilising coloured gels.
