Lighting and Visual Effects for Spectacular Legoland Live Show
Project brief
Design, specify and install a bespoke lighting and visual effects system for the set of ‘LEGO® Friends to the Rescue’ live show at the Legoland Resort in Windsor, England.
The set provided powerful lighting effects and pixel mapping of stunning shapes and animations for the outdoor performances. Integrated colour changing lighting for stage risers and towers around the performance area were also included.
The system needed to be sufficiently rugged to operate reliably and repeatedly in a demanding outdoor environment. Control system space was extremely limited and situated well away from the set requiring extensive high quality power and data cabling as well as wireless control of some lighting fixtures. The control system had to be very powerful, capable of handling nearly 2,500 channels of DMX but also simple and intuitive to operate.
