Performing Arts Technical Facilities for Sheffield Hallam University
Project brief
A.C. Special Projects have provided the complete design, supply and installation of all aspects of cutting-edge lighting & audio systems for new performance spaces at Sheffield Hallam University.
Working with empty shells, room truss and cabling infrastructures were created to accommodate cost-effective yet high quality systems featuring popular industry brands.
For the smaller upper studio, a U-shaped aluminium lighting grid features state of the art Chroma-Q full colour LED PARs and ProLights white LED Spot Profiles, along with conventional luminaires. For the larger lower performance space’s more ambitious productions the rig’s additional fixtures include various ProLights LED full colour Profiles, moving spots and wash lights with pixel control.
In each space, control is provided by Jands Vista consoles connected to the lighting rig via LumenRadio wireless networking, and set up with pre-set custom ‘looks’.
Each space also features compact yet high quality D.A.D Touring Power Series 208A active speakers.
