A.C. Special Projects Partners with GVAV to Illuminate Ocean Court at the National Maritime Museum

London, UK – October 2025 — A.C. Special Projects (ACSP), in partnership with leading AV integrator GVAV, has delivered a state-of-the-art lighting and rigging system for Ocean Court—the flagship event space at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. This upgrade brings advanced visual capabilities and technical flexibility to one of London’s most iconic venues.

The new system delivers a robust, high-specification solution that enhances the flexibility and impact of the Museum’s events, all while complementing the architectural grandeur of the glass-roofed atrium.

New Lighting and Rigging Systems for the National Maritime Museum’s Ocean Court

Comprehensive, Integrated System

Working closely with GVAV and project managers, ACSP designed and delivered a complete turnkey system comprising:

LED stage lighting fixtures
Lighting control console and distribution network
Truss grid and banner truss system with motorised control

The system was developed to provide reliable, user-friendly operation and seamless integration between control, power, and structural elements.

System Overview

Lighting control is managed by the Avolites Quartz Lighting Console, running Titan software, offering powerful performance in a compact footprint. The console outputs sACN lighting data, which is distributed by a Luminex GigaCore 30i network switch and converted to DMX by the Luminex LumiNode 2.

Power distribution is handled by the Vari-Lite RigSwitch+ Performance 24, with external relay control from the Quartz console via sACN for efficient, flexible operation.

The rigging structure features various sizes of SIXTY82 TPM29S truss, providing a robust and adaptable grid structure, along with custom Tourflex Cabling for DMX, Ethercon, and power distribution.

Lighting Fixtures

The installation features a range of PROLIGHTS LED fixtures, selected for their output quality, efficiency, and versatility. These include:

Together, these lighting fixtures provide a balance of performance, colour precision, and energy efficiency to suit a wide range of event applications.

With their design support, GVAV offered technical consultancy and ensured that AV integration for the lighting and rigging systems aligned with best practices in control, power distribution, and long-term maintainability.

The combination of PROLIGHTS, SIXTY82, Avolites, Luminex, and Vari-Lite products offers a fully integrated and future-ready system for the National Maritime Museum’s busy events programme.
